Girona and Vidreres have hosted 'Pianos on the Street', a musical initiative allowing citizens and musicians to freely play three grand pianos installed in public spaces.

'Pianos on the Street' has brought music to Girona and Vidreres this Tuesday. The initiative, promoted by Fundación Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno of Grupo COVAP in collaboration with Làctia Agroalimentària S.L., reaches Catalonia as part of the foundation's 30th anniversary.
Three grand pianos were installed in emblematic locations such as the Pont Vell de Pedra and plaça de la Independència in Girona, and the plaça de l’Església in Vidreres. From 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, professional musicians, students, amateurs, and citizens of all ages had the opportunity to perform pieces and enjoy live music.
In Girona, the pianos were placed in key areas, transforming them into stages open to public participation. The Mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, and the Deputy Mayor, Gemma Geis, visited the initiative and participated by playing the instruments, joining the spirit of sharing music.
The event also included participation from music school students, who experienced an performance environment different from the classroom. In Vidreres, the piano in the Church Square brought this cultural proposal to the municipality, fostering spontaneous encounters around music.
'Pianos on the Street', created in 2016 by Fundación Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno, aims to bring music closer to the public and transform public spaces into cultural stages. This year's edition expands the project to new territories where Grupo COVAP's dairy industries are present.
The event in Catalonia was organized by Làctia Agroalimentària S.L., in collaboration with the Associació del Concurs Maria Canals de Barcelona and the participating town councils. This action reinforces the commitment of Grupo COVAP and Fundación Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno to culture and social participation.
The initiative will continue this Wednesday, October 14th, in Lugo and Meira, with Naturleite, and will reach León on October 15th, supported by Lactiber, where pianist Alberto de Paz will perform the closing interactive act.
