The incident took place on Tuesday around noon on the Carretera de Lloret (C-63), very close to the Vidreres Town Hall building in the Selva region. The victim, who split his time between Vidreres and Sils, lost control of the vehicle due to the medical emergency.

According to initial reports, the man suffered a "fulminant" heart attack while driving, causing his vehicle to collide with a traffic light located on the C-63.
Despite the severity of the impact, authorities confirmed that the accident did not result in any other injuries or involve other vehicles, limiting material damage to the traffic light and the victim's car.
