Vanessa, mother of the five-year-old boy who suffered a severe syncope at the La Cabana d'en Geli restaurant in Solsona, has requested an accurate explanation of the events that took place in January 2026.

The minor received emergency treatment at the Solsona restaurant after his mother, Vanessa, alerted that he had choked on a potato. Although she managed to make the child spit out the object, he subsequently suffered a loss of consciousness that was diagnosed as severe syncope.

"The child did not recover immediately after any maneuver or stand up talking, as has been explained in some subsequent versions of the events."

The mother wanted to clarify published versions that attributed the child's salvation exclusively to an officer of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police). Although the officer offered to perform the resuscitation maneuver, Vanessa explains that the child was no longer choking at that moment, but was suffering from syncope.
The decisive action, according to the family, was that of the SEM health professionals, who treated the minor on site and transferred him to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Manresa. Once there, tests ruled out any foreign body in the lungs and confirmed the severe syncope.

"The thanks to the police officer are still there, but he is not the one who saved his life. The ambulance technicians and the hospital doctor must have equal or greater merit than him."
