The Close-up Magic Festival “Tria una carta” in Solsona reaches its fourth edition from October 16th to 18th, featuring a program that includes internationally renowned artists such as the French magicians Gaëtan Bloom and David Stone.

The festival, organized by the Solsona City Council with direction from local magician Pere Rafart, maintains its commitment to quality, small-scale magic, and audience proximity. The program combines an international gala, intimate performances, family-friendly shows, workshops, and training activities for aspiring magicians. Tickets are now on sale via the platform entradessolsones.com.
A key novelty this year is the relocation of the international gala on Saturday, October 17th, to the Sala Polivalent in Solsona. This new venue will enhance audience comfort and visibility with tiered seating, while still limiting capacity to just over 200 spectators per session to preserve the festival's intimate character.
The international lineup features Gaëtan Bloom, a leading figure in French and European magic, recognized for his performance and creative contributions. Festival director highlights his blend of ingenuity, humor, and creativity. Also performing is David Stone, one of the most sought-after international magicians, known for his style combining close-up magic, technique, comedy, and improvisation. Rounding out the bill is Hugo Maximiliano, a specialist in close-up magic and winner of the National Close-up Magic Award.
Proximity remains a hallmark, with performances in unique Solsona venues for small audiences. On Friday, October 16th, Pere Rafart will present his close-up magic show “Peresonal” at the Solsona Museum. On Sunday, October 18th, David Stone will present his solo show at the Sputnik pub.
The training program for magicians will include conferences and workshops led by Hugo Maximiliano and Gaëtan Bloom, focusing on close-up magic, technique, and creativity.
The family program also plays a significant role. On Sunday, October 18th, Enric Magoo will present a new family show at the comarcal theatre. Additionally, on Saturday morning, October 17th, the Carles Morató Library will host magic workshops for children.
Last year's festival attracted over 1,200 spectators. The children's show drew around 600 people, the international gala had approximately 460 attendees, the magic workshops were fully booked with about 40 children, and the Sputnik show exceeded 90 spectators.
Now in its fourth edition, the «Tria una carta» festival upholds its philosophy of offering an intimate, high-quality magic experience with top-tier artists. From October 16th to 18th, Solsona will once again be a meeting point for magic enthusiasts.
