The Festa del Brut i la Bruta is one of the most deeply rooted celebrations in the region, boasting over 350 years of history. The event keeps the tradition of the ancient Llordera alive, documented as early as the 17th century, while offering a modern musical program for all audiences.
The festival combines the revival of historical figures like the Bonic and the Bonica with a strong commitment to live music and popular participation.
The Associació Cultural el Brut i la Bruta has put together a lineup that includes prominent acts such as Els Catarres, Banda Neon, and K-ZU. The program also features Ambauka, specifically designed for family audiences. The central hub for most events will be the plaça del Pati, the key point of the Carnival.
The program for Friday, February 21, will include the start of the festival in the plaça del Pati with the Llordera, the proclamation, the dance of the Bonic and the Bonica, and the parade. In the evening, the Nit del Constantí will be held, featuring a nocturnal parade and the presentation of the festival's drink, followed by the Constantifarra at the Pavelló Poliesportiu, hosting the main concerts.
Saturday, February 22, will open with the children's version, the Llordereta, which includes a parade of children's giants and the family concert by Ambauka. In the afternoon, there will be the Carnaval de l'Escola and, at night, the Nit de disfresses (Costume Night) with performances by Banda Neon, BigFriday, and K-ZU.
The origin of the festival dates back to the Llordera, which was already celebrated in 1750 as a dance of pagan origin, later acquiring religious connotations by being held on Dijous Gras (Fat Thursday). This tradition was interrupted by the Civil War in 1936 and was not recovered until the nineties.
