The band's name, Riner, comes from a street in El Pi de Sant Just where they held their first “creative retreat” in 2024, although it coincides with the municipality in Solsonès. Its members, originally from Manresa and Sant Salvador de Guardiola, began working together long before the official formation of the trio.
The story started with Maria Campabadal (vocals) and Néstor Bravo (guitar) during high school, forming the professional duo Oniria in 2020. After that project dissolved, they incorporated drummer Guillem Vidal to form the current trio, which is defined by a blend of melodic pop-rock and a more ‘rocker’ edge.
Running a band is like creating a small company. For now, it doesn't bring us benefits; releasing music costs thousands of euros.
Riner took a year and a half to release their first work, the EP Itinerari, in October 2025, as they prioritized establishing a clear identity before taking the stage. This effort bore fruit before the release: in June they were finalists in the Sona9 contest and performed at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm.
Currently, the members are part of a Cases de la Música project that advises them on strengthening the group's cohesion during live performances, aiming to highlight a female-fronted pop-rock band within the Catalan music scene.
