The increase in economic endowment and the expansion of the number of awards have boosted the participation of educational centers in this edition. The Director General of Agriculture and Livestock of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Rosa Altisent, highlighted the award's role in promoting organic agriculture and food in educational centers, consolidating it as a tool to recognize and showcase innovative projects.
The first category, aimed at projects developed during the 2025-2026 academic year, awarded three prizes of 2,500, 1,500, and 1,000 euros. The first prize went to the project "Sowing biodiversity, cultivating community. School agroecology as a tool for environmental, educational, and social transformation" from the Institut Francesc Ribalta of Solsona. The second prize was for "Arranadiu: agroecology, biodiversity, and agricultural heritage to grow the future" from the Institut Escola Mare de Déu del Portal of Batea, and the third for "VII Congress of Learnings: agroecology" from the Escola La Immaculada of Vilassar de Dalt.
In the second category, which recognizes pedagogical materials on organic production, the 1,500 euro prize was awarded to the project "Sustainable and healthy food with an ecosocial approach and as a transversal axis in all educational practice. Pilot experience at Escola Diputació" by the Associació Germanetes Jardins d’Emma of Barcelona.
The third category, which awards project ideas for the 2026-2027 academic year, recognized with 750 euros the project "The school garden as a symbiotic learning space: a science laboratory for ESO" from the Institut Salt del Duran of Mollerussa.
The School, Agriculture and Organic Food Award, created by the Generalitat de Catalunya, aims to promote knowledge of organic agriculture, livestock, and food and is part of the Bio Week for organic food.
