Solsona City Council has secured a 319,000 euro grant from the Generalitat de Catalunya shock plan to finance the modernization of the city's main sports facilities during the 2025-2029 period.

This allocation will finance 70% of three key actions: the renovation of the sports pavilion, the improvement of the municipal swimming pools, and the conditioning of the outdoor courts on Pedraforca street.
The largest project, budgeted at 286,000 euros, will focus on rehabilitating the changing rooms and renovating the court and lighting of the old pavilion. Additionally, 100,000 euros will be invested in replacing the fibrocement roof of the swimming pool building, and 70,000 euros will condition the outdoor multi-sport courts, formerly the site of the El Vinyet school.

"It represents a significant boost for updating municipal sports facilities, with fundamental works for their safety, sustainability, and functionality."

The granting of these funds was made possible by Solsona grouping together with the municipalities of Castellar de la Ribera, Pinell de Solsonès, Llobera, and Guixers. This collaboration allowed the capital of Solsonès to qualify for the 10,001 to 20,000 inhabitants bracket, reaching 319,000 euros, far exceeding the maximum 160,000 euros it would have received based on its actual population.
