The Marxa Castells Altafulla – Costa Daurada gathered over 1,400 people on Sunday, February 1, 2026, enjoying a day of sports and community in the heart of the Baix Gaià region.

After several days of adverse weather, the day started cloudy but quickly gave way to sunshine, providing optimal conditions for trail running and trekking. Participants fully enjoyed the routes among historic paths and heritage elements such as Tamarit beach, the Mèdol quarry, Castell de Ferran, Castell del Catllar, and Castell de Altafulla.
The festive atmosphere prevailed throughout the entire route, with highlights including the brass band (charanga) at the Ferran aid station, which brought music and smiles, and a finish line featuring a DJ that turned the arrival into a genuine party for all finishers.

The Marxa Castells once again demonstrated its sporting, social, and territorial nature, thanks to the energy, respect, and good atmosphere shown by the participants.

Registration data highlighted the strong local roots of the event: 64.6% of participants came from the Tarragona demarcation, while 28.2% were from the province of Barcelona. The organization extended special thanks to the volunteers, security forces, and collaborating administrations for ensuring the smooth running of the event.
