9th Painting, Drawing, and Engraving Contest in Tarragona

The Fundació Privada Mútua Catalana and Port Tarragona present the 9th Painting, Drawing, and Engraving Contest, open to artists residing in Spain, with unpublished works and prizes up to 5,000 euros.

The Fundació Privada Mútua Catalana and Port Tarragona have jointly presented the 9th Painting, Drawing, and Engraving Contest, with the collaboration of the Tarragona City Council, the Tarragona Provincial Council, the Rovira i Virgili University, and the Generalitat de Catalunya. This biennial event aims to foster artistic creativity and innovation.
The submission period for unpublished works will be from August 4th to 30th, at Tinglado 2 of Moll de Costa. Prizes range from 1,000 to 5,000 euros. Finalist works will be exhibited at Tinglado 1 of Moll de Costa from September 18th to October 10th.
The contest includes a Painting category (5,000 euros) and a Local Painting category (1,200 euros). The Drawing and Engraving Contest, in its eighth edition, offers a prize of 1,000 euros.
Pere Jornet, president of the Fundació Privada Mútua Catalana, highlighted the entity's commitment to promoting plastic arts, noting the contest's national scope and thanking Port Tarragona and collaborating institutions for their support.
Santiago J. Castellà, president of Port Tarragona, reiterated the Port Authority's commitment to culture, emphasizing that the Moll de Costa's exhibition spaces serve as a significant artistic showcase for local artists.
Pere Salas, painter and contest coordinator, detailed that original, signed, and unpublished works are accepted, with free technique and theme. Each artist can submit one work per category. Submissions must be made at Tinglado 2 of Moll de Costa, Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
The jury's verdict will be announced on September 18th at 7 PM, during the opening of the exhibition of finalist works, which will be open until October 10th.
