The railway manager Adif has identified 9 especially critical points in the Rodalies network in Tarragona, intensifying inspections to guarantee service reliability following the recent storm.

The railway manager Adif has focused on the Tarragona Rodalies network after identifying nine especially critical points that require priority actions to restore normal circulation. In total, Adif announced the mobilization of resources to intervene at 23 points across the Catalan network, exceeding the 21 previously indicated by the Government. These 23 interventions are distributed across seven lines, with nine in the Tarragona area, five in Barcelona, five in Girona, and four in Lleida.

We are working to minimize the risk of new incidents and accidents and to restore the service with absolute guarantees of reliability.

The inspections, which exceeded one hundred in sensitive sections, focused on slopes, tunnels, bridges, and platforms, especially in areas near the coast, following last week's storm. Adif assures that the set of measures is agreed upon and coordinated with Renfe, the Generalitat, the State, and the drivers' collective, who last Thursday refused to circulate until network safety was guaranteed.
Regarding repairs, the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, specified in a post on X that the works to replace the slope on the R1 line, close to the coast, are already finished. This line suffered a landslide between Maçanet – Massanes and Blanes on Friday afternoon, which triggered a new halt to the Rodalies service after the fatal accident in Gelida.
