The Altafulla City Council officially requested its inclusion in the Tarragona Metropolitan Area this Monday, following a unanimous vote in favor of a motion presented by the PSC.

By joining this body, established on October 31, Altafulla seeks to participate in strategic decisions alongside Tarragona, Reus, and other major municipalities. The metropolitan project aims to manage shared challenges such as public transport and housing more effectively.

"It should be a place where we add synergies and leave aside local disputes."

Jordi Molinera · Co-mayor of Altafulla
Key priorities for the council include the development of the Tramcamp light rail system and ensuring 24/7 emergency stroke care. The metropolitan area already represents over 360,000 residents and 8,000 companies across the region.
