The day on Friday, July 31st, will begin with sunshine prevailing, despite the presence of high-altitude cloud bands. From midday onwards, an increase in cloudiness is expected, particularly in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, which will spread across the territory, leaving the sky partly to mostly cloudy in the western half and partly cloudy in the rest. There will also be intervals of low clouds along the coast until mid-morning and again from the evening onwards.
From midday, showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, with the possibility of them reaching western Catalonia during the afternoon. These precipitations will be of weak to moderate intensity, with minimal or not abundant accumulations, and will be accompanied by thunderstorms, mud, and locally strong gusts of wind, hail, or sleet.
Temperatures will remain similar, although the maximum may slightly decrease in some sectors. The atmosphere will be very hot and muggy during the afternoon. Maximum values will range between 38 and 40°C in Ponent, especially in the north, and in the Conca de Tremp.
Visibility will be generally good, but it is expected to worsen from midday due to increased suspended dust, particularly at high altitudes in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees.
The wind will be light and variable until mid-morning and again at the end of the day. During the middle of the day, it will blow from the south, light to moderate, with stronger gusts along the northern coast and in the interior of Terres de l'Ebre, where strong gusts are expected in the afternoon. Additionally, with the arrival of storms from the west, some very strong wind gusts are possible from mid-afternoon, especially in the south of Plana de Lleida and in the northwestern quadrant.
