The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, announced this Saturday in Vila-seca that the first phase of the Camp de Tarragona tramway will be completed by late 2029.

This update represents a delay from the original 2028 target. During a visit to the construction site of a new bridge over the A-7 highway, Illa emphasized that the project will completely transform regional mobility.
The first phase involves a 224 million euro investment, featuring 14 stations along a 14-kilometer route between Cambrils and Vila-seca. Major construction works are expected to begin before this summer, lasting approximately 25 months.
