The Castellers de Vilafranca delivered a historic performance this Sunday afternoon in the Plaça de la Font of Tarragona, during the First Sunday of Festivities of Santa Tecla. The 'colla', known as 'els Verds', completed an exceptional day, surpassing previous records.
The performance began with the 3d9fa, a tower they completed with difficulty, especially as the pillar was being lowered. The team's experience was crucial for its successful completion.
In the second round, the Vilafranca team tackled their main objective: the 3d10fm, a tower they had not completed in the Plaça de la Font for ten years. After a steady ascent, they managed to finish it, marking the fourth time they have achieved it this season.
Subsequently, they completed an excellent 5d9f and concluded their participation with the pd8fm, thus sealing the best performance ever seen at this celebration.
Other 'collas' also participated in the event. The Colla Vella was not satisfied, as after completing the 4d9sf, they encountered difficulties with the 4d10fm, which they only managed to load after several dismantled attempts. They completed the 3d9f and loaded the pd8fm.
The Colla Jove de Tarragona completed the 5d9f and attempted the 3d10fm, recovering with the two basic nine-level towers and the seven-level pillar with 'folre'. The Xiquets de Tarragona celebrated completing the 5d8 and the 3 and 4d9f, achieving their first 'tripleta màgica' since 2024.
