Passengers on the R16 and other lines faced major confusion at the Tarragona station on January 24, as the suspension of the Rodalies service was not immediately supplemented with alternative transport.

The suspension of the Rodalies service was announced via public address system just as the last passengers of the day were boarding the R16 train. Upon disembarking, users found no immediate alternative road service, forcing them to look for taxis or ask acquaintances to pick them up in Tarragona.
It was not until almost two hours after the announcement that a bus arrived to transport travelers to Reus and Barcelona, without making any other intermediate stops. The lack of clear information, with no staff on the platform, increased passenger discomfort.

"This is chaos and a disgrace. They don't provide means of transport, so I don't know what will happen."

Antonio García · Affected Passenger
Contradictory information also failed to clear up doubts. Josué Lidón, who had arrived in Tarragona from Cambrils, criticized that he had been sold the ticket assuring him the service was running with only minor delays.
Given the lack of alternatives, some travelers sought their own solutions. Joan Vilà, who was heading to L'Ampolla, was stranded halfway and received taxi quotes ranging from 100 to 120 euros to return home, an expense he ultimately decided not to bear.

"How many people will leave today and not know how to return? This is a very serious problem."

Anna Gómez · Spokesperson for Dignitat a les Vies
The platform Dignitat a les Vies has denounced the uncertainty and the lack of informers on the platforms, announcing that they are preparing mobilizations to demand solutions from all actors involved in managing the service.
