According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, a new front will arrive early Monday morning, affecting the coastal and pre-coastal regions of Barcelona and Tarragona. Authorities have urged citizens to be extremely cautious during outdoor activities and Carnival parades.
The 112 emergency number has handled over 1,100 calls since Saturday, mostly regarding fallen trees and damaged urban structures. Firefighters have responded to 842 incidents across the territory, with the highest concentration of reports coming from Baix Ebre and the Barcelona metropolitan area.
Traffic has also been impacted, notably on the AP-7 highway near Vandellòs, where a truck overturned due to the wind. While the wave alert in Empordà has been deactivated, wind conditions are expected to remain hazardous through Monday afternoon.
