Conventional crime drops by 5.1% in Tarragona during 2025

Official data shows a general decrease in criminal activity, despite a rise in drug trafficking and sexual offenses.

The Ministry of the Interior released data this Thursday, February 19, showing that conventional crime in the Tarragona region decreased by 5.1% in 2025 compared to the previous year.

A total of 38,297 conventional offenses were recorded, 2,000 fewer than in 2024. Notably, murders and homicides saw a sharp 60% decline, dropping from fifteen to six cases. Cybercrime also fell by 11.4% across the province.
While cities like Salou and Reus saw significant improvements, Valls reported an 11.9% increase in crime, driven by a doubling of home burglaries and drug-related offenses. Overall, drug trafficking crimes rose by 7.1% across the region, totaling 540 cases.
