The signing of the occupation deed marks the end of a process that began in 1992, giving the green light for the recovery of this property located in the town's old quarter. The main objective is to ensure its structural conservation and promote its architectural rehabilitation.
The council aims to transform Ca la Miquelina into a future landmark facility for the municipality, open to all residents for public and cultural uses. The purchase was completed for an amount of 345,669.45 euros, according to the fair price set by the Catalunya Expropriation Jury.
The local administration plans to pay this amount in installments over four years, with a first payment of 86,000 euros scheduled for 2026. However, the final amount may vary depending on the resolution of an ongoing contentious-administrative process.
In parallel, the City Council has applied for a subsidy of 50,000 euros from the Tarragona Provincial Council to co-finance the purchase. Furthermore, municipal ownership will allow Creixell to access future public grants for the rehabilitation of historical heritage.
In the coming months, the necessary technical studies will be carried out to define the building's condition, priority rehabilitation actions, and the final usage project.
