The parliamentary spokesperson for Comuns, David Cid, demanded in Tarragona that the Department of Health establish a clear roadmap to guarantee 24-hour stroke care in the city.

During his participation in a protest for full operations at Joan XXIII Hospital, the Comuns representative revealed that, despite budget negotiations with the PSC, the ministry led by Olga Pané has only agreed to implement the uninterrupted service at Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida.

"I find Minister Olga Pané lacks dialogue and political will to put a roadmap on the table."

David Cid emphasized that it is not a matter of financial resources, as the Health budget for 2026 is the highest in history. According to the MP, the population size of the Tarragona area and Terres de l'Ebre justifies a mechanical thrombectomy service equivalent to those in Girona or Lleida.
