The Association for the Promotion of the Tarragona Metropolitan Area has formally requested that Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona provides 24-hour thrombectomy services every day of the week.

The organization points out that medical data highlights strokes as a significant health issue in the Tarragona region. They emphasize that time is a critical factor in such emergencies to save lives and minimize long-term neurological damage.

"This is not a political demand, but a requirement for territorial justice and equity in access to public healthcare."

Roc Muñoz · President of the Association
The association plans to formally present its position to the Department of Health, seeking a clear schedule and sufficient resources to ensure that local residents have the same recovery opportunities as those in other parts of Catalonia.
