The initiative, which began last Monday, June 29, aims to adapt the space to the current needs of children and their families, emphasizing accessibility, comfort, and the quality of public space. The intervention covers an area of over 2,400 square meters.
Mayor Eloi Calbet highlighted the council's vision, viewing children's parks as spaces for family coexistence rather than just places with games. The goal is to create comfortable areas for year-round enjoyment, establishing the park as a benchmark for family leisure.
Improvements include the renovation of play areas with new elements to stimulate physical activity and creativity, such as inclusive games, sand and water play zones, trampolines, and balance circuits. New trees and vegetation adapted to the Mediterranean climate will also be incorporated, along with awnings for shade.
Additionally, new resting areas with benches and picnic tables will be created, and a new drinking water fountain will be installed. The project also includes upgrades to lighting, drainage, and overall environmental accessibility, reinforcing the council's commitment to greener and more comfortable public spaces.
