The Tarragona City Council has completed the renaturalization project for the El Miracle esplanade and plans to submit it this week to the State Provincial Coastal Service for necessary approval.

The Councillor for Environment, Guillermo García de Castro, confirmed that the council has finalized the technical proposal, the drafting of which was awarded a year ago to Envers Environmental Services SL. The cost of the future intervention will be entirely borne by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
The project establishes the technical basis to protect the El Miracle coastline and increase the beach's resilience against the effects of climate change. Planned actions include the restoration of the dune system, the creation of green areas, the implementation of new flowerbeds to recreate threatened coastal ecosystems, and the installation of interpretive panels.

While awaiting the approval and execution of the works, which will take some time to start, the municipal government is considering giving the esplanade provisional use. The idea is to convert the space into an area where beach sports can be practiced and, possibly, install a beach bar, for which permits have already been requested from Costas de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
