The severe rain and snow storm registered over 80 liters per square meter in parts of Camp de Tarragona this Saturday, resulting in 72 emergency calls to the 112 service.

Data collected up to 12:00 PM shows significant accumulations, highlighting the 83.6 liters recorded in la Riba, 72.8 liters in Montblanc, and 66.3 liters in Constantí. These intense precipitations primarily affect regions such as Tarragonès, Baix Camp, Alt Camp, and Conca de Barberà.

The 112 emergency phone line received a total of 72 calls related to the rain and snow by 11:00 AM, with Perafort being the most affected municipality with 18 reports.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) has increased the alert due to the probability that rainfall accumulation will exceed 100 liters in 24 hours across a dozen regions. This forecast affects areas of the Pyrenees (such as Alta Ribagorça and Ripollès) and remains critical in the south, including Conca de Barberà and Priorat.
The continuous rains have necessitated increased hydrological monitoring and reservoir management maneuvers in internal basins. Furthermore, the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation is monitoring the possibility of sudden floods. Separately, significant waves are expected starting Saturday evening in Alt Empordà, with waves potentially exceeding 2.5 meters and persisting until Sunday.
