The Els Pallaresos Town Council has formally requested urgent measures from the Tarragonès Comarcal Council to improve the waste and pruning collection service, denouncing repeated incidents, repair delays, and a lack of alternatives.

The council expresses its discontent with the constant service deficiencies, which may lead to bins overflowing for weeks, causing unsanitary conditions and inconvenience for residents. The Town Council finds it concerning that no alternatives are proposed to ensure service continuity in the face of incidents beyond the council's control.
Since January 1, 2026, more than 90 incidents related to bins have been recorded, averaging nine per month, with some taking weeks to resolve. The Town Council believes this highlights the need to improve the response capacity of the service provider, particularly in container repair.
The council reminds that the annual cost of the service is approximately 600,000 euros, a significant expense for municipal finances. Therefore, it considers it essential that the quality of the service matches the cost and that economic increases are accompanied by a real improvement in provisions.
Among the main demands to the Comarcal Council are ensuring collection alternatives, demanding compliance with contractual obligations from the awarded company, improving service quality monitoring and control, reviewing the cost-quality relationship, and supporting local councils.
The Town Council argues that the Comarcal Council should act as an ally to municipalities and ensure the service meets citizens' needs with guarantees of continuity, efficiency, and quality. For this reason, concrete and immediate measures have been requested to find lasting solutions.
