The municipal groups of ERC and Junts at Tarragona City Council have formally requested the resignation of Sandra Ramos as president of the Municipal Media Company (EMMCT).

The opposition parties accuse Ramos of failing to inform the board of directors about the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia renewing the protected status of Xavier de Gispert, the manager of Tarragona Ràdio.

"It is unacceptable for the president of EMMCT to hide such relevant information from the members of the board."

De Gispert has been a protected witness since 2023 after reporting alleged financial irregularities involving over 800,000 euros in hidden payments and subsidies between 2009 and 2019.
The controversy also involves the lack of recordings for the board meeting held on February 26. Local authorities stated this was a measure taken by the city secretary to prevent the leaking of official minutes to the press.
