The ERC municipal group in Tarragona has formally requested the resignation of Sandra Ramos, president of the Municipal Media Company, citing a serious breach of institutional transparency.

The controversy centers on the protected witness status of the company's manager, Xavier de Gispert, which was renewed by the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia last October. ERC claims Sandra Ramos failed to report this renewal to the board of directors until specifically questioned during a meeting on February 26.

"It is inadmissible for the president of the EMMCT to hide such relevant information from the members of the board of directors."

The manager has been under protection since 2023 after reporting financial irregularities totaling over 800,000 euros between 2009 and 2019. ERC has now filed official information requests to the Mayor's office to clarify the management of the public entity.
