The head of ERC's municipal group in Salou, Sebastià Domínguez, has provided a positive assessment of his party's local government management, highlighting advancements in security, cleanliness, and sustainability, and has set the creation of a municipal housing service and the implementation of an urban bus as key objectives for the final year of the mandate.

Domínguez stated that the party has demonstrated its capacity to govern, fulfilling electoral promises to make Salou a 'safer, cleaner, more sustainable, and housing-friendly' municipality. This assessment is based on a 'more than notable' improvement in these areas, according to the councilor.

"We promised a safer, cleaner, more sustainable Salou with housing, and we believe the improvement has been more than notable."

Among the highlighted achievements, Domínguez mentioned a 20% reduction in the crime rate, positioning Salou as one of the safest municipalities in Tarragona. This result is attributed to increased human and material resources for the local police, as well as collaboration with other police forces and the implementation of community policing initiatives.
Regarding sustainability, the municipality has implemented a new beach model with solar-powered beach bars and a motorboat-free beach, along with improvements in waste management that have led to certifications like 14001. Solar panels have also been installed on municipal buildings, and groundwater wells are utilized for cleaning and irrigation, aiming to de-seasonalize the tourism industry.
Looking ahead, ERC prioritizes the creation of a municipal housing service and the implementation of an urban bus connecting all neighborhoods, including Cap Salou. Additionally, projects such as the new cleaning and waste management contract, and improvements in video surveillance and Civil Protection are expected to be completed. The future tramway, which will run through the Eix Cívic, is considered a key project for the municipality's connectivity.
