“"The transformation project for the building at Imperial Tàrraco square is progressing as planned so that the new operational headquarters will be a reality by mid-2029."
The design contract is valued at 569,101 euros. The project aims to create a sustainable and efficient public building to centralize services for over 600 employees. Key criteria include architectural quality, energy efficiency, and integration with the adjacent Síntesi Building.
Project drafting is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with construction tenders expected in late 2027. The total investment is estimated at 8.9 million euros. While operational staff will move to the new site, the Palau de la Diputació will remain the seat of government and may house the Museum of Modern Art.
