FOET is Born, the New Employers' Association to Boost Tarragona's Business Fabric

The new entity, affiliated with Foment del Treball Nacional, aims to fill the void left by the defunct Cepta and act as a territorial lobby.

The new employers' association, Foment Empresarial del Camp de Tarragona (FOET), has been officially presented in Vila-seca, aiming to defend business interests and act as a territorial lobby, continuing the spirit of the defunct Cepta.

FOET, established in September 2025, held its official presentation at the Beach Club Infinitum in La Pineda, Vila-seca. This new business confederation is integrated as a territorial branch of Foment del Treball Nacional in the Camp de Tarragona, and is also part of the Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE). Its creation responds to the need to fill the void left by the Confederació Empresarial de la Província de Tarragona (Cepta), which is currently in liquidation due to debts.
Among its prominent founding members are significant sectoral associations such as the Federació Empresarial d'Autotransport de Tarragona (Feat), the Gremi de la Construcció del Tarragonès, the Associació Empresarial de Tallers de Reparació y Venedors d'Automoció (Astave), the Associació d'Empreses Químiques de Tarragona (AEQT), and the Federació Empresarial d’Hostaleria i Turisme de la província de Tarragona (FEHT). These entities had previously been driving forces behind Cepta during its most active periods.
During the presentation, several representatives highlighted the importance of this new platform. The president of FOET emphasized the desire to continue the work and territorial lobby spirit that inspired the creation of Cepta, expressing gratitude for the support received in founding the new entity.

The director of the Department of Business and Work in Tarragona concurred with this vision, noting that Tarragona is a strategic objective for the Government of Catalonia, possessing great industrial, infrastructural, tourism, and technological potential. For his part, the president of Foment del Treball Nacional underscored FOET's importance in defending the interests of Tarragona's entrepreneurs and influencing administrations.
