The Hife bus company immediately reinforced services in the Terres de l’Ebre towards Tarragona and Barcelona this Wednesday to absorb the surge in travelers caused by the Rodalies rail service interruption.

The interruption of the Rodalies commuter rail service has significantly increased the demand for road transport in the Terres de l’Ebre region. Hife Manager, José María Chavarría, stated that the situation is "totally controlled" thanks to the immediate deployment of additional vehicles on key routes.

"We have reinforced the services and have not left anyone stranded."

Hife maintains constant and fluid communication with the Departament de Territori to ensure that the reinforcement continues as long as the problems in the Rodalies service persist. The company is also collaborating with Renfe, describing the situation as "complicated moments."
Currently, Hife runs 22 daily trips in each direction to Barcelona and 9 to Tarragona. Many users in the area had already switched to buses in recent years due to the frequent delays and incidents affecting the Rodalies railway service, prioritizing the competitive price and punctuality offered by the bus lines.
