Teachers and educators in Tarragona are holding a new strike day this Wednesday, with informational pickets causing closures on the N-240 and traffic jams, while the Mossos d’Esquadra manage diversions.

A new strike day for the education sector is taking place this Wednesday in Tarragona, with the participation of professors, teachers, and other educational professionals demanding labor improvements and more resources for public education. The call includes pickets, demonstrations, and various protest actions throughout the day.
The day began at 7:15 AM with informational pickets at the roundabout of the N-240 and Doctor Mallafré avenue, where the road was blocked in both directions. Consequently, intermittent traffic jams occurred during the morning on the city's access routes. The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) implemented traffic diversions to try to minimize congestion and facilitate vehicle flow.
The organizers have announced a demonstration at 11:30 AM in Imperial Tàrraco square, from where participants plan to proceed in a convoy to the roundabout of the Quatre Garrofers. There, protest activities will continue with music, banner and badge workshops, as well as a communal meal which, according to the organization, could be a collective paella.
Under slogans such as “If they don’t respect us… we block everything!”, participants denounce the state of the educational system and assert that they will maintain pressure to demand changes in the conditions of teaching staff and educational management.
