The Catalan Institute of Finance (ICF) granted a 9.64 million euro loan to the Tarragona Water Consortium (CAT) this Monday for a new reservoir in l'Ampolla.

The project will double the current storage capacity at the l'Ampolla treatment plant. The new 185,000 cubic meter tank for raw water has a total budget of 13.4 million euros and is expected to be completed within 13 months.

"We will be more resilient and able to offer water to our members for 24 to 48 hours, regardless of river extractions."

Marc Brunet · President of CAT
The financing was secured through the EcoVerda climate line. Vanessa Servera, CEO of ICF, confirmed the eleven-year repayment term. This investment aims to guarantee water security for the entire Tarragona province without increasing consumer rates.
