The Junts parliamentary group, led by Mònica Sales, registered a request on Wednesday for Generalitat President Salvador Illa to appear before the Parliament to explain the new financing model.

The request was announced during a press conference in Tarragona, following internal working sessions held by the party. Mònica Sales dismissed the financing model agreed upon by ERC and the Spanish Government as a "simple update" that fails to grant Catalonia fiscal autonomy.

"The State will continue treating Catalonia like any other community, within the common regime."

Junts insists on demanding an economic agreement (concierto económico) and threatens to defeat the current proposal in the Congress of Deputies. Sales argued that maintaining this firm stance was the strategy that successfully secured the amnesty law.
This hardline approach faces internal dissent, notably from former minister Jaume Giró and former president Artur Mas, who urge the party leadership to engage in negotiations to introduce improvements to the proposed LOFCA reform.
