The Sala Gran of the Casal Municipal in Torredembarra will host the presentation of the play «Santa Rosalia, when fear became prayer». Performances will take place on October 9 (8:30 PM), 10 (8:30 PM), and 11 (6:30 PM), by the cast of the Torrenca Cultural Association La Sínia.
The theatrical piece transports the audience to Torredembarra in the year 1652, when the plague spread through the town, altering all certainties. Faced with illness, fear, and powerlessness, the inhabitants sought answers in medicine, authorities, and faith.
«Santa Rosalia, when fear became prayer» recreates the events that led to the town's vow and the beginning of the Torrenca cult of Santa Rosalia. The play intertwines historical figures and dramatic characters to depict a community subjected to an extreme decision, posing the question: How does a town respond when fear dominates everything?

The event is organized by the Torrenca Cultural Association La Sínia, with the collaboration of the City Council, through the Department of Culture.
