The Municipal Transport Company of Tarragona has initiated its pass purchase and recharge campaign for the new school year, anticipating increased ridership and strengthening customer service operations.

The Municipal Transport Company of Tarragona (EMT) has launched its public transport pass purchase and recharge campaign in anticipation of increased ridership, particularly among children, young people, and families, with the start of the new school year. This initiative aims to streamline processes and improve citizen service throughout September.
From Monday, August 31st, information staff will be available at the Customer Service Center in Plaça Imperial Tarraco to provide support and facilitate transactions. This information and support service will operate throughout September. The EMT has bolstered its technical and personnel resources at this center to manage the anticipated rise in demand, which was evident in previous years with over 20,000 annual transactions.
The company advises users to purchase and recharge their passes in advance, especially before the school year begins, to avoid queues and ensure better planning. Additionally, personalized travel cards from the ATM Camp de Tarragona, such as the T-16 and T-Jove, which facilitate student travel, are now available for application. Applications can be made online or in person, with the online option recommended for its efficiency.
Detailed information regarding card applications and collection points can be found on the ATM Camp de Tarragona website. The EMT also operates various pass sales and recharge points throughout the city, the locations of which are available on the company's website.
Through these measures, the EMT aims to enhance citizen services and prepare the transport system for the increased mobility associated with the new academic year. Furthermore, on September 7th, the winter operating hours for the municipal buses will take effect, including adjusted frequencies and the conclusion of the special beach line L-16 service.
