Major police operation in Tarragona results in 33 arrests

A massive police operation coordinated by the Mossos d'Esquadra this Friday led to the arrest of 33 individuals across the Camp de Tarragona region during a crackdown on crime.

The Kanpai operation involved more than 320 officers from various forces, including National Police and local guards. The mission targeted high-traffic areas in Tarragona, Reus, Valls, and El Vendrell to increase public security and deter repeat offenders.
Authorities identified 1,138 people, who collectively held over 3,300 prior criminal records. The operation also resulted in 80 drug possession reports and 20 citations for carrying knives or other weapons.
In Reus, a man was apprehended in the Sant Josep Obrer neighborhood after a car chase involving a stolen vehicle. In total, police inspected 10 premises and checked nearly 350 vehicles, recovering three stolen cars during the day.
