The individual, with a dozen prior police records, allegedly committed at least four thefts in establishments in Tarragona and one in Cambrils during August. According to the police, the man entered establishments and stole cash and personal items, taking advantage of staff distractions to also take the tip jar.
The investigated incidents began on July 7th in a bar on Mallorca street, where he stole cash, a handbag, and a wallet. Subsequently, on July 29th, he entered another establishment on Mossèn Salvador Ritort i Faus street, taking the money from the tip jar.
On August 4th, in a business on Falset street, the suspect went further. After fleeing with a container holding money for a charitable organization, he assaulted the owner while being pursued. Although the owner recovered the money, the thief stole his mobile phone before escaping.
The operations continued on August 8th in a bar on Lleida street, where he stole cash and a fanny pack containing credit cards, personal documents, and house keys. Finally, on August 11th, he traveled to Cambrils, entering an establishment on Sant Joan Baptista de la Salle promenade, where he again stole the tip jar.
Security cameras in the establishments have recorded several of his actions. The man appeared in court this Saturday.
