A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Torredembarra Local Police on January 2 after attempting to rob the same gas station for the second time, an act motivated by drug debts.

The first violent robbery occurred on December 27 at a gas station located at the exit of Torredembarra, on the T-214 road. The man, a resident of El Pont d'Armentera, brandished a large knife and stole 100 euros in cash from the register.
The failed attempt took place on Saturday, January 2. The worker on duty recognized the alleged thief, who arrived by bicycle, and managed to lock the entrance door, preventing the man from using the knife again, which measured almost 34 centimeters in total length.

The man later confessed to the officers that the motive for the robberies was directly related to debts incurred due to drugs.

After the second robbery was thwarted, the accused fled on his bicycle, but the Torredembarra Local Police had already been alerted. Officers located him shortly after on a nearby rural road. The man obeyed orders, threw the knife away, and surrendered without resistance.
