A total of 1,770 candidates gathered this weekend in Tarragona to participate in the selective tests for access to various civil servant bodies of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The examinations are taking place at the facilities of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), specifically at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria, the Escola Superior d'Enginyeria Química, and the Facultat de Química i Enologia.
This call is part of a broader selection process involving 15,795 candidates across Catalonia, aiming to fill 1,325 civil servant positions in various scales.
Following Barcelona, Tarragona is the second province with the highest number of applicants, ahead of Girona (with 1,567) and Lleida (with 1,534). The decentralization of tests is a strategy by the Generalitat to facilitate candidate participation.
The announcement, published on February 2nd, is part of the Government's strategy to establish an annual schedule for public employment offers. Since the beginning of the legislature, 16,932 positions have been approved for the 2025 and 2026 public employment offers, aiming to attract new talent and reduce temporary employment in the Administration.
The bodies with the most vacancies include administration (366), superior administration (376), subaltern administration (228), and auxiliary administration (114).
Of the total registered individuals, 71.36% are women (11,272), 28.33% are men (4,474), and 0.31% (49 candidates) did not select either option.
Once the selection process is completed, new civil servants will be required to undertake a mandatory, though non-eliminatory, course during the first quarter of 2027, focusing on digital skills, institutional organization, and public service values.
