More than a hundred doctors demonstrated this Wednesday, June 17, through the center of Tarragona to protest against work overload and demand a specific collective agreement.

The strike, which had an estimated turnout of between 30 and 40% according to the Metges de Catalunya union, saw several gathering points. Professionals began the protest in front of Joan XXIII Hospital and later moved to the Health Region of Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, as well as the Official College of Physicians of Tarragona.
The protesters sought to highlight their discontent with symbolic actions, such as covering their mouths with adhesive tape to denounce the lack of response from the administration. According to the union, the current situation of waiting lists is at its limit and the responsibility lies directly with the Department of Health.

"We are all necessary, but our responsibility is much higher than other health professionals and, therefore, we need an agreement."

The group has warned that if a satisfactory solution is not reached after the summer, the mobilizations will continue. Currently, the 'Ni un minut més' campaign is gaining momentum among doctors, who have decided to stop performing additional and voluntary activity as a pressure measure.
