The Salou Town Hall, through its mayor and president of the Municipal Tourism Board, Pere Granados, has reinforced its strategy in Paris to consolidate the French market, attract new visitor profiles, and advance in tourism de-seasonality.

The objective of the presence at the IFTM Top Resa fair, one of the main international tourism fairs, is to showcase a diversified and attractive Salou throughout the year, beyond the sun and beach image. This promotional action is carried out jointly with the Business Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Tarragona (FEHT).
Granados' agenda in the French capital includes institutional meetings with the director of the Spanish Tourism Office (OET) in Paris, José Antonio Benedicto, and the director of the Catalan Tourism Agency in Paris, Josefina Mariné, to analyze new growth opportunities and coordinate future promotional actions. He also met with French tour operators and tourism entrepreneurs to understand demand trends and generate commercial opportunities.
France is a priority market for Salou due to its proximity and growth potential. The strategy aims to strengthen the historical bond and expand it to new segments interested in gastronomic, sports, cultural, nature, shopping, health, and wellness experiences.
The city aims to project its transformation and a broader offering that includes beaches, coves, gastronomy, sports, nautical activities, shopping, culture, heritage, nature, and well-being. Areas like the Camí de Costa, family and leisure offerings, the proximity of PortAventura World, and a robust hotel infrastructure contribute to this diversification.

"France is a fundamental market for Salou and we still have significant room for growth. We want to better explain today's Salou, a destination that offers many more experiences and many more reasons to visit throughout the year."

Pere Granados · Mayor of Salou
Granados highlighted the importance of diversifying the offer for a more balanced and less seasonal tourism model. He stated that Salou offers the Mediterranean, gastronomy, sports, nature, culture, commerce, well-being, and quality of life, ready to attract new audiences and convert the potential of the French market into more activity throughout the year.
The mayor also advocated for public-private collaboration and coordinated work with Turespaña, the Catalan Tourism Agency, and the business sector for more efficient international promotion tailored to new traveler habits.
