The young woman is in critical condition, while the mother has experienced a worsening since Saturday. A third person involved, the grandfather, suffered minor injuries. Initially, the Roda de Berà City Council had erroneously reported that life support had been withdrawn from both women and had declared two days of mourning, but the Department of Health later clarified that both remained in critical condition, with stable vital signs and not yet disconnected.
The council argued that the mayor had spoken with the grandfather, who had informed him of the decision to withdraw life support. This information led to the decision to hold a minute of silence before the habaneras performance scheduled for the afternoon, as well as dedicating the night's pyromusical show to them.
Subsequently, the city council issued a statement deeply regretting the confusion and apologizing for the distress caused by the inaccurate information.
At the time of the incident, the mother and daughter were sleeping with the grandfather in a stall at the Roda de Berà sports port market. The force of the water caused the collapse of the wall separating the street from a private property, falling on the people nearby.
