A six-kilometer segment of the N-340 highway in Mont-roig del Camp has been named the most dangerous point in the national road network this Tuesday, February 17.

According to the Risk Map report by RACC, this section in Tarragona has a risk index of 200.9, far exceeding other dangerous roads in the country. The study, based on iRAP methodology, analyzed data from the 2022-2024 period.
The N-420 road, also passing through Tarragona, ranks second in the country for the total number of high-risk kilometers. In Catalonia, the overall risk average stands at 11%, although Girona remains a concern with 18% of its state-managed roads classified as dangerous.
For the first time in 15 years, the RACC noted an increase in risk levels on high-capacity motorways. However, conventional single-carriageway roads remain the most hazardous, with an accident probability four times higher than on highways.
