Entrepreneurs Gerard Cañellas and Arnau Pérez have debuted CalçotApp, a digital platform providing an interactive map to locate authentic spring onion producers and restaurants in Tarragona and across Catalonia.

Launched during the peak February season, the app focuses on promoting products with the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Calçot de Valls. This European quality seal ensures the authenticity and superior standards of the traditional onions.
Available on iOS and Android, the app already lists more than 500 establishments. Users can access detailed profiles including contact information and GPS routes for restaurants, romesco sauce producers, and traditional bakeries.
The initiative also features an editorial section titled La Redolta, which offers news and cultural insights into this unique Catalan gastronomic tradition, aiming to become the primary digital resource for enthusiasts.
