The session, titled "Lideratges i masculinitat" (Leadership and Masculinity), brought together about ten men from different research centers to discuss leadership models and gender perspective. Núria Alcaraz Coca, head of the Gender Unit at the CERCA Institution, presented the program's objectives, which seek to actively involve men in the change processes towards equality.
Unlike other initiatives, CERCA-RUMB specifically focuses on men, starting from the need for them to review their roles and leadership styles. The program comprises five workshops addressing aspects such as incorporating gender perspective into leadership, the relationship with hyper-productivity, identifying sexist violence, and task distribution.
The proposal favors an in-person, experiential format with small groups to foster personal and professional experience. Adapted online versions will also be offered to broaden access for more participants from CERCA centers.
The CERCA Institution, which has had a Gender Unit for over a year, has previously promoted programs like CERCA-REMA (feminist mentoring). Accumulated experience has highlighted the need to complement these actions with specific working spaces for men.
