Nine people were injured on the night of February 28th during a fire in a residential building in Tarragona, specifically in the Torreforta district, leading to several evacuations.

The emergency call was registered at 11:54 PM, reporting a fire on the first floor of a building on Penedès Street. Five Bombers de la Generalitat crews responded, using a turntable ladder to rescue residents trapped by the smoke.
The Medical Emergency System (SEM) dispatched five ambulances to the scene. Three victims were transported to the Joan XXIII University Hospital, while six others were treated on-site for minor injuries and released.
Firefighters confirmed that the building's structure remains safe despite the blaze. Ventilation work was carried out to clear the smoke, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
