The Port of Tarragona closed 2025 with 29.24 million tons of cargo, achieving historic milestones in strategic sectors despite a slight overall decrease in volume.

General conventional cargo reached an absolute record of 1.79 million tons, a 15.7% increase compared to 2024. Steel products also saw a record-breaking year, moving nearly 825,000 tons, reflecting the success of the port's diversification strategy.
In the energy sector, gasoline and kerosene shipments surged by 43.5%, reaching 1.39 million tons. This performance reinforces Tarragona's status as an international hub for refined products, supporting the local petrochemical cluster.

"Next year will be the year of the port with the launch of key infrastructures that will multiply rail connectivity."

Santiago Castella · President of the Port of Tarragona
Looking ahead to 2026, the port will focus on the Guadalajara-Marchamalo dry port and the expansion of the Baleares Quay. These projects aim to attract global operators and lead the emerging floating offshore wind sector in the Mediterranean.
