The Port Authority of Tarragona (APT) held its 5th Work Session on September 16th, hosted at the Castell de Torredembarra. These meetings, held biannually, aim to strengthen ties with territorial institutions and have previously taken place in locations such as the Monastery of Poblet and the Castle of Vila-seca.
The Mayor of Torredembarra, Raúl García, welcomed attendees, highlighting the good understanding between the council and the Port, materialized in an agreement for the tourist opening of the Torredembarra Lighthouse, managed by the APT. This agreement has added a new tourist attraction to the municipality and reinforced the Port's commitment to promoting maritime heritage.
The session served to kick off the new term and face the final stretch of a key year for the port's future. The President of Port Tarragona, Santiago J. Castellà, stated that the port sector is undergoing a transformation towards a "sustainable and intelligent" model.
Castellà emphasized the Port's philosophy of promoting value chains across its area of influence. He highlighted major projects such as the arrival of COSCO and PTP at the Moll d’Andalusia, the expansion of the Moll de Balears for offshore wind, the Guadalajara – Marchamalo terminal, and the installation of OPS, steps that reaffirm the port's role as a key logistics hub and economic driver.
