The gala, held at the Teatre Tarragona, combined music, projections, and interviews with key figures from the castellera world. The performance by the group Cap Quadrat provided the soundtrack for the 2026 audiovisual season. The event unveiled the season's new features and the three broadcasts of the Concurs, which will commence on June 24th in Valls.
A highlight was the unveiling of the official poster for the 2026 Concurs, created by visual artist Ricard Martí. The artwork, inspired by children's perspectives, connects the past, present, and future of castells. The gala also emphasized the cultural and heritage significance of the Concurs with a tribute to Pau Casals, who presided over the jury of the first competition in 1932. The draw for the 2026 Concurs will take place at the Pau Casals auditorium in El Vendrell on September 11th.
Cellist Edmon Bosch performed live during the screening of historical images. The three competition days were presented: Torredembarra, and Saturday and Sunday in Tarragona. The event was attended by representatives from various castellera groups and sponsors including Estrella Damm, Repsol, Forn de Nulles, CaixaBank, and BASF Tarragona.
Sandra Ramos, Councilor for Culture of the Tarragona City Council, stressed the event's importance for the city. Meanwhile, Núria de José, CEO of La Xarxa, highlighted the commitment to growth with all sector stakeholders. Albert Torres, president of the Coordinadora de Colles Castelleres de Catalunya, praised the audiovisual agreement for promoting and preserving castells.
